There are 2 ways you can have your DynDSL Hostname updated with your current IP Address.

  1. Login to our website with your userid and password and manually click the "Change Hostname" option button, or

  2. You can Download one of the following clients, configure it, and have it automatically login for you!

** Windows 9xFreeUnzip package and confiure the client simply by running the setup program. gdipc-win32.zip 
** Unix / LinuxFreeGunzip then Untar package and confiure the Perl client by running it with a "-c" option ( gdipc.pl -c ). Once Configuration is complete - run gdipc.pl without any options to perform Hostname updates. gnudip-2.1.2.tar.gz 
Windows 9x/Me/NT/2000/XPSharewareA great Windows client for managing multiple Dynamic Dns Services - now also supports DynDSL.com. Once installed. Right mouse click on the DynSite icon in your icon tray and then select - help - then select - Check for Upgrade. This will download the latest site listing - DynDSL.com will now be available in the Services List. DynSite 
 
** Either Configuration proccess will ask the following Questions - to which you reply;
 
  • New Username: - Reply your DynDSL HOSTNAME (eg: foo - if you registered foo.dyndsl.com )
  • New Password: - enter your DynDSL password
  • New Password Again: - enter your DynDSL password again
  • Domain: - enter "dyndsl.com" (without the quotes)
  • New GnuDIP Server: - enter "ns1.dyndsl.com" (without the quotes)
 
Best practice is to configure clients to run at server / workstation startup...
 
DNS is updated every 5 minutes, so it should take about that long for your updates to be visible. You may need to close and restart your browser or clear it's cache to correctly reflect updates...
