Client OS | Charges | Comments | Download |
Windows 9x ( Requires ActivePerl ) | Free | This package requires the prior separate installation of ActivePerl. The file is a self-extracting zip executable file | gnudip-2.3.5.exe (53 kb) |
Windows 9x ( StandAlone ) | Free | ActivePerl takes up about 50 meg of disk space, and most of this is not needed by the client script. Unix / Linux | Free | Gunzip then untar package and confiure the Perl client by running it with a "-c" option ( gdipc.pl -c ). Once Configuration is complete - run gdipc.pl without any options to perform Hostname updates. | gnudip-2.3.5.tar.gz (650 KB) |

Best practice is to configure clients to run at server / workstation startup... |
|
Primary DNS is updated almost immediately, Secondary DNS should sync withing 1 Minute. The Default TTL for our domains has been set at 5 min. So it should take only about 5 min for your updates to be visible. You may need to close and restart your browser or clear it's cache to correctly reflect updates... |

NOTE: This site is a modified implementation of the GnuDIP code... You may be able to find clients for other platforms there... |
